Managing Director

Andrew is the founder of Global Engineering. A tool maker by trade, he is a practical person who has an excellent knowledge of engineering principles and processes. Andrew’s role in the company has always been directing. In the early days, from the company’s conception in 1994, it was directing people on the shop floor; now it’s guiding the growth & development of the company, working with what he describes as “an amazingly talented and hardworking team” of over 40 people. Outside of work Andrew enjoys spending time with family and friends, and walking the dog on the beach for some fresh air.

Operations Manager

Mark wears many "hats" at Global, and could the described as the "Manager of anything that comes to Mind". From tender review and initial contract award, through to detailing coordination, manufacturing and project completion on site.  Mark is a qualified Fitter/Welder with a Graduate Diploma in Business with over 35 years experience across many industry sectors in engineering and manufacturing, and utilises all that experience to all aspects of the business.  Mark is the architect of all the QMS business systems, procedures and accreditations including the SFC CC3, Sitewise - Gold, Sustainable Steel Council - Gold.

Outside of work Mark loves to travel both home and abroad with his family, and riding motorcycles.

Blair Neverman

Workshop Manager

Blair has progressed through the business learning all aspects of our operations.  He has been internally promoted to his current role, and although young in years, his ability to get steel out the door within stringent QA procedures is second to none!  He is always on top of all current and upcoming jobs, making sure he knows what steel we have and what we need so that the team is never left short. Outside of work Blair enjoys playing competitive darts for West City Dart Club.

Metalwork Supervisor

Josh directs and supervises the metalwork team, making sure everything runs smoothly and the product gets out on time. Experienced in the finer more detailed work that we do, he is diligent when it comes to quality steel manufacturing.  He is crazy about his cars and 4x4, so just as well we have a great workshop here for him to use in his spare time.

Siteworks Manager

Tom comes to us from within the building and construction industrand is the link between our manufacturing facility and our clients’ needs on site.  During the course of the project, Tom will make himself available to both our clients and the project delivery team to facilitate the achievement of the Construction Programme, Quality Assurance and Buildability.  With 10 years experience in construction, Tom now uses this vast experience in concrete, timber and steel to be our key contact and coordinator on site.

Senior Structural Detailer

With over 25 years’ experience in the structural steel industry including 5 yrs on a workshop floor, 1 in purchasing and estimating and then 18+ steel detailing, TK has a well-rounded knowledge base. At Global he provides quality drawings for review and approval and incorporates his knowledge of NZ steel construction practices into all projects. His special talent is identifying potential ways of improving fabrication and site erection to maximise efficiency and lead times. Outside of work TK likes to spend time with family, having Airsoft battles, listening to music and watching great movies.

Alan McAlinden

Structural Detailer

Alan uses his skills in both StruCAD and Tekla software to provide technical drawings of steel structures for design review, workshop fabrication and site erection. He’s experienced in working within residential, commercial and industrial sectors. Outside of work, Alan enjoys playing & watching soccer, socialising, and watching TV and films.  Alan is also our resident source of random facts and offbeat information.

Chief Financial Officer

Heather is a maestro at keeping the office running smoothly. As well as being in charge of all financial information, reports and budgets, she’s also kept busy with other general business operations, including HR, marketing and IT. Her multi-tasking, organisational and problem-solving skills help the Global team deliver for our clients and she goes out of her way to make Global a great place to work. In her spare time, Heather does Crossfit most mornings to keep fit and healthy and enjoys hanging out with family and friends and reading good books.

Justine Packard

Financial Controller

Justine has worked in industrial manufacturing environments for over 20 years and is excited to help the continuing growth of the Global Engineering business.  Justine’s role includes Accounts Receivable, Payroll and Management accounting , and she will also bring in her wealth of knowledge to provide financial information/reporting to the management team.  In her spare time Justine also does Crossfit and enjoys live theatre (especially Comedy), travel, and being with family and friends.

Office Manager Extraordinaire

Lorraine McQuillan

Lorranine has recently joined our team and is a welcome energentic team player.  Her experience in general office administration is proving valuable, as we implement new and improved office systems and procedures.
