Andrew is the founder of Global Engineering. A tool maker by trade, he is a practical person who has an excellent knowledge of engineering principles and processes. Andrew’s role in the company has always been directing. In the early days, from the company’s conception in 1994, it was directing people on the shop floor; now it’s guiding the growth & development of the company, working with what he describes as “an amazingly talented and hardworking team” of over 40 people. Outside of work Andrew enjoys spending time with family and friends, fishing, motorcycles and working with timber because it’s a nice contrast to steelwork.
Stu looks after project scheduling, from initial contract award through to detailing, fabrication and project completion on site, as well as the day-to-day operational aspects of Global’s busy factory and team. Stu has been in the construction industry for 30+ years. He is a qualified carpenter and joiner and has worked in all aspects of construction and project management in Isle of Man, Ireland and NZ. On his return to NZ in June 2014, he assisted Andrew to complete the construction of the Kumeu headquarters. Following this he transitioned into his present role, using his scheduling and organisational skills to assist in the growth of the company. Outside of work Stu likes traveling and seeing more of beautiful NZ, riding motorcycles, and spending time with family while walking the family dogs.

Neil’s experience in steel erection is impressive, which is why he’s in charge of site work and all that entails. On any given day you’ll find him juggling resources to suit deadlines and timetables, and listening to clients and their needs to determine his next operational move. In his spare time you’ll find Neil riding motorcycles, playing guitar in a band, or getting on with DIY around the home.

Phil’s friendly manner invites collaborative teamwork, which goes a long way to ensuring the best end product is achieved. Phil is a keen runner who enjoys tramping and the great outdoors..
Alan uses his skills in both StruCAD and Tekla software to provide technical drawings of steel structures for design review, workshop fabrication and site erection. He’s experienced in working within residential, commercial and industrial sectors. Outside of work, Alan enjoys travelling, sports, socialising, and watching TV and films.
Luke looks after our project costing: he prepares detailed estimates of costs, attends tender clarification meetings, raises technical questions during tenders and works with the draftsmen to resolve any price changes that occur during the fabrication process. His experience allows him to give clients viable options that meet their needs and reduce costs. Away from work Luke enjoys travel, astronomy, photography and time with grandkids. He also has a great interest in keeping and breeding rare birds.

Blair operates our bandsaw and ensures fabrication work is within tolerances, meets engineer specifications and has a high standard of finish. Outside of work Blair enjoys playing competitive darts for West City Dart Club.
Heather is a maestro at keeping the office running smoothly.
